FAQ

Please reach us at info@redleafacupuncture.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Acupuncture can provide numerous benefits such as reducing pain and inflammation, improving sleep and digestion, reducing stress and anxiety, and boosting the immune system.

The number of sessions depends on your condition, how long it’s been present, and how your body responds to treatment. Acute issues may improve within 3–5 sessions, while chronic or complex conditions often require more consistent care over time. Most patients start with weekly visits and adjust frequency as progress is made. During your first appointment, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and goals.

At Red Leaf, we believe in treating you before you get sick—acupuncture isn’t just for when symptoms arise, but a powerful preventive medicine that helps keep your body balanced, energized, and healthy over the long term.

The frequency of treatments depends on your unique condition and goals. For acute pain or recent injuries, 1–2 sessions per week are common until symptoms improve. For chronic issues, stress, or internal imbalances, weekly sessions are often recommended at first, then gradually spaced out as your body stabilizes. Many patients also choose monthly treatments for maintenance and overall wellness.

Most people are surprised to find that acupuncture is not painful. The needles are extremely thin—about the width of a human hair—and are gently inserted with precision. You may feel a slight pinch, warmth, tingling, or a dull ache, but many patients describe the experience as calming or even meditative. If you’re nervous, let your practitioner know—your comfort is always a priority, and treatments can be adjusted to your sensitivity level.

After your acupuncture session, it's best to take it easy. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and heavy meals, and give your body time to integrate the treatment. Rest if you feel tired, and try to stay warm and relaxed. Avoid intense exercise, saunas, or anything overly stimulating for the rest of the day. Pay attention to how you feel—acupuncture continues to work even after the needles come out. Gentle movement, light meals, and quiet time support the healing process.

Acupuncture can support a wide range of conditions by restoring balance in the body. Commonly treated issues include pain (back, neck, knee, shoulder, arthritis), stress, anxiety, insomnia, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, migraines, fatigue, and menstrual or fertility concerns. It can also support recovery from injuries, boost immunity, and enhance overall wellness. At Red Leaf, treatments are personalized to address both symptoms and the root cause—mind, body, and spirit.

Yes, acupuncture can be an effective treatment for fertility issues by improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating hormone levels, and reducing stress.

Acupuncture has been around for over 2,000 years and is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine.
